The Cricova winery consists of many underground tunnels (130-km/80 mi.), passages and rooms. Every tunnel is like a city street bearing the name of that kind of wine which is produced there. The Cricova winery is situated under sixty-meter (65 yards) thick layer of land in the limestone rock. Due to its placement and limestone rock, the temperature is constant all the year round and stands at 12-14 grades C (10 F), humidity being 79%. These are very favorable conditions for preserving and filtering the wine. Cricova winery has a fine collection of wines, which size and quality impress many tourists visiting the winery, especially by the fact that everyone gets to taste them.
